Live Fine Art Auction & Silent Auction to Benefit Isadora Duncan Dancers
Grass Valley, April 12, 2005 -- Mill Street Gallery will host a Fine Art Auction on Saturday, May 14, 2005, at 8:00 p.m., at the Gallery, 120 Mill Street, Grass Valley, California, for the benefit of Lori Belilove & Company, the resident dance company of the Isadora Duncan Foundation for Contemporary Dance.
The auction is being conducted to assist Lori Belilove & Company in bringing the majesty of Isadora Duncan to Russia this summer.
The auction will feature the exquisite photographic work of Margaretta K. Mitchell who has for years documented Lori Belilove & Company. In addition, the auction will include important Picasso, Miro, Matisse and Chagall works, as well as WPA, California painters, E.J. Gold and members of the Grass Valley Graphics Group.
The gallery will be open for previewing the auction lots from Sunday, May 8th through the live auction date, May 14th. Gallery hours are 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day, except Sundays when the hours are 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Gallery is closed on Wednesdays when the staff is on in-home art consultation appointments.
Dance supporters will also be able to make Silent Auction bids on the lots at the Gallery. A docent will be on duty to assist newcomers to the process of the silent auction. Mill Street Gallery is offering free notecards to anyone who visits the Gallery to preview the auction, regardless of whether they bid.
The live auction on Saturday evening May 14th begins at 8:00 p.m. Admission will be free to the public. Champagne and hors d'oevres will be served.
