Wow! What a shock last night (Monday) when I spoke with Nathan and Matt (the IAJE production guys), and they told me that the art had not arrived and was not due in until noon on Tuesday!!

    Yikes!

It turned out that the load got stuck in Buffalo yesterday. Not a weather stuck! We may never know. Around 9:30am or so the load showed up There they were, the tubes and boxes and stuff. The driver was very apologetic to me and got it to us as early as possible.

We were Bunny, Paul, and Linda starting out at mid-morning to break the art apart. The rooms at the Royal York hotel had been ready earlier in the AM, but not now. We will have to dress those stages tomorrow (Weds morning) Around 10am 2 of the IAJE volunteers were assigned to us. Young musicians paying their dues. They were very willing and hard working.

The first art was installed at the Bassett Theater. What a wonderful stage. It called for the two wings of Gabriel and two of the street scenes. In the center was an IAJE sign. When we saw it all, there was NOT enough room for all 4 pieces. Nathan decided to eliminate the Wings.

That's how the day went. Choices, changes, decisions.

Ed Drass and Eron showed up late morning. They were wonderful to work with and strong helpers.

Ken Ahrns comes on Wednesday at noon. Paul Barry is simply the strength of the crew -- what a huge worker. Thank you Paul, again and again. Mariette comes mid-day Wednesday.

Suddenly around 7 PM we were done for the day. There are five spaces left for Wednesday, that gig starts tomorrow at around 7am. People went home and to rest.

The booth space is a cool location. We assemble that one on Thursday.

Linda and I had dinner at the CN tower tonight. It is so high up. It takes the elevator 61 seconds to get to the restaurant which rotates 360 degrees and gives one a great view of the city.

The program book looks great - the Street banners look really good.

It's late. Many of the escalators were not turned on so we had many steps. I noticed some of the older staff having a bit of trouble with the stairs (like that dgf guy). Its late - mostly a day of moving stuff.

    Tomorrow - the conference starts....

    nite
