Leila Sack
Leila Sack was born in 1980 in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. She is currently an astrophysics major and art history minor at UCLA and is on track to graduate summa cum laude. She is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Golden Key Honor Society. Most recently she has been a member of a UCLA research team investigating active galactic nuclei and starburst galaxies. She is also pursuing her pilot’s license as the first step to fulfilling her dream to become an astronaut. An accomplished athlete, she has been a competitive gymnast, master swimmer and distance runner. Now she is a surfer, scuba enthusiast and certified shark diver. Ms. Sack has studied figure drawing at UCLA and classic and modern art in Barcelona and Madrid. She has studied portraiture and pencil drawing with noted watercolor artist Jenifer Broomberg and at the age of 16, had her first gallery showing in La Jolla, California. She has also studied with celebrated artist E.J. Gold and legendary animation director Lin Larsen. Recently, her work has been shown in galleries in Malibu and Nevada City,California. In addition, over the last fifteen years, Leila has become a master artisan of Ukrainian Easter eggs.
