Glenn Perry
Born 1941 in Northampton, Massachusetts, Glenn Alan Perry
has been an inventor and creator all of his life. Growing up in farm country, he acted and danced in productions of Endgame and The Boyfriend and designed and created the artwork for town store fronts to advertise the local theater. Glenn later studied dance with Paul and Anne Barlin and Margalit Oved, as well as becoming a pioneer in computer programming,
designing and writing the memory management and user swapping routines of a time sharing systems program.
In 1972 Glenn engineered the very first Samadhi floatation tanks for its inventor acclaimed scientist and consciousness pioneer Dr. John C. Lilly. Glenn, together with partner Lee Perry, founded the Samadhi Tank Company, and have been the foremost manufacturer of floatation tanks in the world for over 30 years, managing all aspects of design, manufacturing, and marketing. They also designed the aesthetics of Float Centers that moved people into meditative spaces as they entered, including designing and building all the furniture. In addition they designed "Floating" magazine, the trade journal of the floating industry.
Glenn has also been a clothing designer, creating pants that allowed men total freedom of movement. He is a master gardener with special interest in biodynamics, and enjoys painting in the midst of a myriad of interesting projects, and has worked with other members of the Grass Valley Graphics Group for many years.
